Shotgun shells are the ammo used for loading a shotgun, such as the pump-action shotgun or the sawed-off shotgun. Note that although the Jackhammer and Striker count as a shotguns, these shells cannot be used to load them.

• Sawed-off shotguns hold two shells.
• Pump-action shotguns hold seven shells.

Behind the scenesEdit

The maximum amount of shotgun shells that can be held is 80 in Max Payne and 140 in Max Payne 2. Using either shotgun uses up the same supply of ammo.
