Weapons are the key element of the series. Most of the time Max Payne is involved in massive shootouts. Since the player is unable to fight barehanded, weapons are neccesary to kill any enemy. Each weapon is given a slot depending on its type, and there is no limit on the amount of weapons Max can carry, but there's a limit on ammo required.

Obtaining weaponsEdit

Max is usually given a starting weapon, but can quickly gain more by finding them or taking them from dead enemies. In most levels you get to keep weapons from the previous one but sometimes you end up losing them. Often,weapons are found in closets or cabinets that can be opened.
